The Massachusetts Coalition for Affordable Energy is asking legislators to protect Mass Save and programs supported by Alternative Compliance Payments in the final energy bill because they promote energy affordability and equity. The coalition also supports the Senate proposal to limit the Gas System Enhancement Program (GSEP), saving ratepayers over $900 million every year.
To lower energy bills and promote equity, the Massachusetts Legislature must strengthen Mass Save, preserve ACPs, and limit GSEP.
Current status
The House and Senate passed different versions of the energy bill. H.5175 and the Senate amendment, S.3166, are before a conference committee.

Massachusetts Coalition for Affordable Energy
The Massachusetts Coalition for Affordable Energy (MCAE) is a coalition of organizations working to reduce energy costs, support workforce development, and improve equity across the Commonwealth by protecting the Mass Save and Alternative Compliance Payments programs.
